Filmmakers, cast, and crew for 146 shorts and feature-length films lined up to be photographed on the red carpet, on their way in to the opening night film, Out of Plain Sight, an alarming documentary about lingering DDT pollution off the West Coast.

This year’s edition of the Slamdance Film Festival launches Thursday night, taking place for the first time in Los Angeles … The festival’s opening-night selection, screening at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre, is “Out of Plain Sight,” directed by Daniel Straub and Rosanna Xia.

Miami Film Festival announced the lineup for its upcoming Festival taking place from April 3-13, 2025. ‘Out of Plain Sight’ is nominated for the Doc Achievement Award at the festival.

The film will make its Ohio premiere with a two screenings on March 30th and 31st in the historic KeyBank State Theatre.

Following four sold-out screenings, directors Daniel Straub and Rosanna Xia were presented with the festival’s prize for highest ratings from the audience
